Cosmic Currents
What’s Shifting in the
Stars This Week?
27 July, 2026
This is a high movement week, beginning under the shadow of a Full Moon and partial Lunar Eclipse across 28 and 29 July in Capricorn in Shravana Nakshatra. At the same time, Saturn has only just turned retrograde, adding a deeper layer of review around responsibilities, commitments and what needs restructuring.

The second half of the week brings another series of changes. Rahu leaves Shatabhisha for Dhanishta on 1 August, changing the way its Aquarius energy expresses itself. On the same day, Venus leaves Leo and enters Virgo, its sign of debilitation. Then on 2 August, Mars leaves Taurus for Virgo. Mercury remains strong and direct in Gemini, while the Sun and exalted Jupiter in Pushya continue to provide an important source of stability through a highly transitional week.

This is a week of release, adjustment and changing priorities.
🌕 28 and 29 July: Full Moon and Partial Lunar Eclipse in Shravana, Listen Before You Decide

The Full Moon falls in Capricorn in Shravana Nakshatra, a lunar mansion ruled by the Moon and associated with listening, learning, observation and absorbing wisdom.

As a Lunar Eclipse, however, the emotional landscape can feel temporarily magnified or unclear. Capricorn wants certainty and control, while the eclipse can reveal where that control has become too rigid.

This may bring:
  • Realisations around responsibilities and long term commitments
  • Greater awareness of what has become emotionally unsustainable/
  • A need to listen before responding
  • The culmination or release of something that has been building quietly
Shravana reminds us that not every answer comes through action. Sometimes we understand what needs to change only when we become quiet enough to hear it.
♊ Mercury Direct in Gemini: A Clear Mind Through a Changing Week

Mercury remains direct in Gemini, its own sign, providing an important source of mental clarity.

This supports:
  • Clearer communication and decision making
  • Learning, writing and exchanging ideas
  • Greater adaptability when circumstances change
  • The ability to see more than one solution
With so much shifting elsewhere, Mercury helps keep the mind flexible rather than fixed.
♋ Sun with Exalted Jupiter in Pushya: A Strong Centre

The Sun remains in Cancer alongside exalted Jupiter in Pushya Nakshatra. The Sun is in a friendly sign, while Jupiter is operating from a position of exceptional strength.

Together, they provide an important counterbalance to the eclipse and the week's other transitions.

This supports:
  • Wisdom and perspective during emotional moments
  • Leadership rooted in care rather than control
  • Greater trust in long term decisions
  • Support through family, mentors or trusted relationships
When the week feels unsettled, return to what is genuinely nourishing and sustainable.
🪐 Saturn Retrograde in Revati: The Review Begins

Saturn has only just turned retrograde on 26 July, so its change of direction will still be strongly felt.

In Revati, Saturn's retrograde asks us to revisit what we thought was nearing completion.
This brings:
  • Old responsibilities returning for another look
  • Reassessment of boundaries and commitments
  • Delays that reveal where foundations need strengthening
  • A deeper examination of what you are ready to leave behind
There is no need to force closure. Some chapters require one final review.
♒ 1 August: Rahu Moves into Dhanishta: Ambition Finds a New Rhythm

Rahu remains in Aquarius but leaves Shatabhisha and enters Dhanishta, a Mars ruled nakshatra.

This is an important change in Rahu's expression. Shatabhisha has emphasised observation, unconventional thinking and uncovering what lies beneath the surface. Dhanishta introduces more movement, ambition and desire for tangible progress.

This may bring:
  • Stronger motivation to achieve
  • Greater focus on status, networks and collective influence
  • Faster movement toward future goals
  • A need to balance ambition with good judgement
Rahu becomes more action oriented here. Direction matters as much as momentum.
♍ 1 August: Venus Enters Virgo: Relationships Become More Discerning

Venus leaves Leo and Ketu behind and enters Virgo, its sign of debilitation.

Venus in Virgo can become more analytical about relationships, beauty, money and personal values. Instead of simply enjoying something, we may start noticing what could be improved.

This brings:
  • Greater discernment around relationships
  • A tendency to analyse feelings
  • More practical approaches to money and creativity
  • Higher standards for what feels worthwhile
  • The lesson is to refine without becoming overly critical.
♍ 2 August: Mars Enters Virgo: Energy Becomes Precise

Mars leaves Taurus on Sunday and moves into Virgo, bringing a noticeable change in pace.

This supports:
  • Tackling practical problems directly
  • Improving routines and systems
  • Greater attention to detail
  • Turning frustration into useful action
Mars in Virgo wants something to fix, organise or improve. Give that energy a productive task rather than allowing it to become irritation.
🦁 Ketu in Magha: Standing Alone Again

With Venus leaving Leo on 1 August, Ketu is once again alone in Magha, its own nakshatra.

This strengthens the ongoing theme of releasing attachment to recognition, status and external validation.

Magha connects strongly with ancestry and inherited identity. Ketu here continues to ask what is truly yours and what you are simply carrying because it came before you.

✅ Weekly Action Steps:

  • Give the eclipse space before making emotional decisions
  • Listen carefully to what resurfaces under Saturn retrograde
  • Stay flexible as several planets change their expression
  • Refine relationships without becoming overly critical
  • Channel the weekend's stronger Mars energy into something practical

🔮 Jyotish Insight of the Week:
Some weeks ask you to move forward. This one asks you to listen to what is changing first. Let what falls away make the next direction clearer.
